Name of Assignment: Native Hawaiian Species Learn & Teach Presentation
Subject: Field Ecology
Facilitator/Teacher: Coach Cassie
Description of Work/Assignment: I had to create a presentation about at least three native Hawaiian species.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? This assignment addresses interpersonal skills because I was working as a member of an organized team that collaborated to finish this assignment.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am really proud of our presentation. I think that the background for this slideshow and way we made it really fit the subject.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I developed and interpersonal skills because I was working as a member of my team. Our progress went smoothly because we were working together effectively.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently? If I could improve this work I would possibly add more stream species to the presentation. We went for the bare minimum in this presentation, but I wish we had done more. What was most difficult about completing this task?
The most difficult part of this task was learning about the species. These species were relatively rare and it was difficult to find pictures or lots of information about them. This project was similar to the other presentations that we have done in field ecology. We have made presentations about other topics in this class.

How can you apply this to future learning? I can apply this to future learning in ecology when we learn about the native snails in Hawaii. At one point, Hawaii had over 700 species of native snails. Some of these species are endemic to a single valley while others can be found all over the islands.
