Name of Assignment: Felipe Alou
Subject: Spanish III
Facilitator/Teacher: Profe
Description of Work/Assignment: Read the book about Felipe Alou, the Dominican former MLB player
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? This assignment addresses global awareness skills the most. When reading the book, I am learning a lot of vocabulary in a second language. In addition to learning Spanish, there is lots of information about social issues he experienced throughout his life.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am most proud of my comprehension of Spanish from this book. Our school did not offer a Spanish III class in my junior year, so I took some time off and didn't remember much. It took me a while, but I am understanding more in class.

What was most difficult about completing this task?
The most difficult part about completing this task was the Spanish I had to relearn. Almost every word in this book sounds or looks familiar, but I do not know what it means. It makes me feel not so good when I have a feeling of what the word means, but I don't exactly know. How could you improve this work? I think I could improve this word by reading it a bit better. If I was better at speaking Spanish, the teacher and other students would probably have an easier time understanding me. How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I worked on my global awareness skills by learning new information about the world and how it affected Felipe Alou.
How can you apply this to future learning? I could use what I learned from this book in a Trivia game, or I could use it to better understand the history of the United States during the 40s-60s.
This book isn't similar to any books I have read. It is only similar to the chapters we read out of the textbooks in Spanish.
